Blue Virtuoso

On May 17th 1996 the late vintage guitar collector Scott Chinery held a party at his New Jersey estate to celebrate the completion of The Blue Archtop Collection. Scott commissioned twenty two builders to each make an 18 inch blue archtop as a tribute to the late James D'Aquisto. All the blue archtops were on display including the D'Aquisto Blue Centura. The guitars were displayed the following weekend at The Classic American Guitar Show hosted by 20th Century Guitar Magazine. I was honored to be included among the builders.
The Blue Archtop Collection was displayed in the Museum of American History at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. during the period September 1997 to November 1998.
